Time to Explore Public Transit

All links open in new tab/window.

The way it is going at the moment, BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit - for the readers outside San Francisco Bay area) will come to a halt in a matter of days.

This is not a problem only for folks who normally ride BART. For those who drive every day, your commute will be affected all the way down to 237, as Mr. Roadshow pointed out. This is a great opportunity (though imposed) to explore public transit.

One service that we highly recommend during the BART strike is the VTA Express Buses from Fremont area to Santa Clara/San Jose. And if you enjoy catching up with reading while others are behind the wheels, check if your employer offers the Eco Pass (link on the same page).

If you are not sure if you can use public transit, give it a try through Google Maps. There is an option of using public transit under Directions, and you can specify the time you want to arrive/depart etc. You will be surprised where public transit can take you to.

So, on Monday -

1. Work from home if you can
2. Take alternative public transport (take plenty of reading material!)
3. Carpool
